Trying to describe music in words seems impossible. Or as
someone once said:
"you can't get the sound from a story in
a magazine".
When Peter Hermesdorf and myself got together at the Maastricht Conservatory to form a quartet, the main thing we had in mind was to create a "vehicle" for our musical ideas. Our main goal was to play the music we ourselves would love to hear. So what came out was a mixture of straight ahead jazz, popmusic, latin influences, grooves, etc.
"Aquamagia" is our first cd, and it captures (at least some of) the sounds we had in mind.
